Aaron Williams, RN, BSN

Board certified Health & wellness nurse coach

Over the past 15 years of my acute-care (hospital) nursing career, I noticed a trend early on: people would most often choose pills or a procedure to “quick-fix” a health problem, rather than attempt a life change.

I also noticed that the food provided by the hospitals was generally very poor nutrition, high on processed foods, & very low in quality protein.  Up until recently, we were still passing out soft drinks to patients upon request.

I wondered why all patients were treated the same, despite vast differences in physical, mental & emotional state. Everyone the same “guideline” regimen of medications, & nursing “care plan” – often ignoring true health.  The focus was clearly on getting people into, & out of the hospital as fast as possible.  For years, this didn’t feel right.  We are all unique individuals that deserve individualized care.  People respond differently to medicines, procedures, diet, & lifestyle changes.  The latter two, were rarely discussed.

In 2020, I discovered the pure power of coaching through my own journey to heal my gut with a functional dietician.  I had never experienced being a provider’s sole focus for whole 1-hour sessions, with ample opportunities to have all my questions answered, & my limiting beliefs called out.  This was a transformational experience for my gut, but also my life trajectory.

I enrolled in The Integrative Nurse Coach Academy in 2021, & fell deep in love with the transformative nature of health, and life coaching.  For the first time in my life, I could see my own automatic negative thoughts, my belief systems that were built to protect my ego from embarrassment/failure/discomfort, & most importantly, to be open to not knowing, comfortable with silence, & to trust my intuition.

Since experiencing that massive shift towards growth mindset, I realized just how out of alignment I had become with my chosen career path.  I retired from my 15 year career as a bedside nurse, took some time to work on myself, & established my own coaching practice in January 2023 after passing board certification. I named it “Elevated Nurse Coaching, LLC,” as it is my wholehearted intention to elevate lives through the power of coaching.  The entrepreneurial rollercoaster ride has been REAL.  I have been honing a vast variety of self care tools along the way, which were essential for my own healing, & allowed me to transform into who I am today.  This “toolbox” of self care strategies is a gift I love to share.  Self care is not selfish, it’s an essential part of whole health.

I would be honored to hear your story, what your greatest struggles are, & help you achieve the life you desire.  The greatest gift I can give is my time, so I always gift an hour of free coaching to see if we are the right fit.  There is nothing to lose.  I am here for your highest good, & look forward to meeting you!
